Rustic Dining Table
34" x 56"
This antique pine board on board door from an old home here in Ottawa has been lovingly converted to a dining table. When found, it had been used as a work-bench top in the basement. Dating from the early 1900's it's seen its share of abuse. It has scars of paint, hinge marks, holes from the door hardware and nail holes galore. A few really large nails are still evident, but it has been stripped and sanded smooth. It was then oiled to bring out the beauty of the wood.
The legs are oak which were found at the Habitat For Humanity "Restore" and have been shabbied up to match the top. The table stands a comfortable 31" tall. The table skirt is fabricated of new wood, dyed to match the table-top.
Finally, its finish has been protected using environmentally friendly water based products.
